Mobile broadband for laptops gears up

HP's EliteBook line of laptops includes models with Qualcomm's Gobi chip. That means users can choose which wireless carrier they want to go with for Internet-anywhere service without having to use an add-on card to the computer. Prices start at $1,200, and the only model without the Gobi chip is the 17-inch EliteBook, said an HP spokesman.Faster anywhere-Internet access is available using AT&T, Verizon Wireless and Sprint's 3G mobile broadband networks. Whether it's the right choice for you depends on your needs.
